Review on RockShox Recon Silver Fork Adjustment by Covey Palmer

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great upgrade for an old XC bike

Need a new fork for my nephew's 2001 Giant NRS bike. He got the bike as a gift from another family member and had a very old broken 130mm RockShox fork with no compression adjuster. The new fork is a perfect match, air spring, compression, rebound, plus a 1-1/8 straight steerer and QR9 axle to work with the wheelset on the bike. It can use train brakes or disc brakes, we use Shimano hydraulic brakes instead to replace the old Avid BB7 brakes. I hope he has a few more years to work with the bike before it needs to be replaced.

Pros
  • Satisfied so far
Cons
  • poorly thought out
