Review on Miniature Ergonomic Watercolor Color Starter by Doris Tran

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Good starter kit but you get what you pay for.

The brushes themselves are very nicely designed, the brushes are housed in a cloth pouch in a nice thick plasticised cardboard cylinder which doubles as a holder when you are using the brushes. Each brush also comes with a thin plastic tip cap. They are very ergonomic, with a triangular grip area - you can draw for hours with one. My only complaint and this is the main one. Even with proper care, the nozzles begin to break badly after a few weeks of careful use. Shaping the hair doesn't help either, as soon as it gets wet again, it splits and falls apart. This has happened to every liner or round brush in the set after only using them a couple of times. None of my other brushes do this, and for that reason this set has been relegated to painting techniques that are difficult for brushes, such as stippling. B. Dry brushing after only 3 weeks of use. It's a shame, otherwise it would have been a great set. Anyway, I would only recommend it as a starter kit for those new to the hobby - real hobbyists would be better off spending the extra money to get a really decent kit at the art supply store.
