Definitely choose a higher power because it's still beautiful and dim light brings a good mood. I suspect a lower wattage would be too weak, for example if used in a bathroom. One of the lamps died shortly after installation (after about 2 weeks). While the other five survived (1 month). It's a very warm yellow color and they're not too bright when viewed directly. I wouldn't recommend this being your only lighting in the bathroom as the light is quite yellow. I think it will look best in combination with a brighter bulb.
