Not ideal for long snout long eared pups like dachshunds but not the worst. It makes loud noises when pups lick it towards the top of the bowl, as the bowl clangs against the housing. It also slides around too much.Easy to clean the only fault is that when my Dachshund tries to get food out the metal bowls clangs a little loud and shakes the entire unit. The silicon rings don't address the issue, the entire lid should have nonslip material. I will add this myself but it would be nice if it was improved just a little.Also the lowest part of the lip is still over 3 inches tall because of the foam feet and lip. Try a small size for a mini dachshund, medium for a full size/tweenie
