I added a 12 volt outlet to the back of my truck and installed this switch to turn the switch on and off. Works great and the light is bright (even during the day) so you know when the switch is on. I took off a star because the switch doesn't come with instructions, which requires some trial and error. The outer columns are positive and negative and the center is positive when the switch is on. Through trial and error, I found that positive and negative only work in one direction. That means if you plug the switch into a power source and it doesn't turn on, you've swapped the + and - terminals. In terms of installation, you can use plug-in connectors to connect the wires to the switch. And while the front bezel is square, the back of the derailleur is a circle. If you drill a 1/2" hole, the switch will go in and the tapered hooks on the back will hold the switch in place.
