I would have expected more from a guard.

The downside of this product is that the pencils don't have a wax base to transfer the color pigments, so it takes a fair amount of effort to get a decent result. In a project I was working on, the base just couldn't break enough to blend into and looked hardened. I warmed it up a bit with a hair dryer and the base just rubbed off. Luckily I have some Otterwax and I put some on my finger and the foundation did exactly what it was supposed to do the entire time. So it worked, but only at the cost of adding something that should have been there originally. Not sure how long a stain can last without wax?
