I ended up sending it back because I didn't read the description carefully enough, so it was with me. I wanted to find something to keep snails. So if you are looking for a snail shell, this is NOT the place. The whole cage is covered with mesh and the floor is not very deep. Also, it has gaps, especially where the tray needs to go through, making it unsuitable for holding small insects or young insects. However, it was fairly easy to assemble. THIS DOES NOT COME WITH A SUBSTRATE TRAY. That's what the description says, but again I didn't look closely. That alone might make me want to return it even if that's what I needed. For everything you store here, you absolutely need a substrate tray, even if it's just plants, because otherwise the dirt will fall out right away. Weird that this is an optional item. However, if you don't mind ordering a tray separately, it seems fine for protecting cocoons or holding a few praying mantises. It doesn't look like a good long-term home for anything, but it's probably great for rehab or college. This is obviously a cheaper alternative to what you'll find in pet stores, but that translates into quality.
