It took a long time but we got closer to the ideal
We installed this above our fireplace. The TV is centered with a pin that you also install when you slide it out or slide it out all the way. We were a bit nervous trying to tilt and level the TV properly, my wife moved the TV and I tightened the nuts on the bracket. It took a long time, but we've come closer to the ideal. We didn't have a post in the middle of our chimney, so I had to install one to the right of the next post. The bracket allowed me to center the TV but it cannot be pressed against the wall. The space behind the TV actually makes it easier to connect to the TV. There are also mounts on the arms that you can run cables through, which is pretty nice.
