Review on Competition Cams 54 446 11 XER281HR 12 Three Bolt by Jay Huang

Revainrating 1 out of 5

Not the comp cam I was expecting

I was going to put a camshaft on my truck and Revain had an open box COMP cam that was in very good condition. I bought a camshaft and waited a week for Revain to deliver it. The tracking number indicated what day the camshaft would be delivered, so I got up in the morning, disassembled the engine and removed the camshaft to be ready to install a new camshaft. Revain supplied a COMP cam and I opened the box and the cam was used and damaged. The serial number on the end of the camshaft did not match the serial number on the end of the box. Looks like someone didn't know what they were doing and damaged the camera, bought a new COMP camera from Revain, then put the damaged camera in a new box and sent it back to Revain. I spent my time taking the engine apart and need to buy new gaskets so I can put the engine back together. I don't know if this person had problems with the pushrods in their engine or if Comp Cams didn't harden the camshaft. COMP Cams makes quality products, although it didn't work for me. I put the note in the box before giving it back to Revane, so I hope no one else is wasting their time.
