At first I loved. I am a very fair redhead and sunblock has become a focal point of my skin care. My skin is dry and the slick oil was welcome. I used it on my face, neck, and exposed chest. After repeated applications I noticed a slight stinging sensation on my face. My office is dry like many others and thought that was the source of the facial discomfort. Then I realized each application resulted in more sting with a slight numbness developing. The obvious finally dawned on me. I ran to the wash room and rinsed it off my face. Finally the skin irritation calmed. It did not fully come off my hands and each time I touched my face the sting returned. Once at home I gently washed my red face and applied an aloe based after sun product. The sting did not fully abate until morning. The sting and red irritation were now minimal. Neither my throat/neck nor my chest suffered as my face. This is a chemical sun screen that specifies areas such as cheek bones for its use. I will go back to physical sunscreen for my face.Although most fair skinned redheads are thought to have sensitive skin, this is the first product I have had such a reaction to.Not to be overlooked is the pain and redness my eyes demonstrated. With the slick oily application it easily get too close to eyes and as others have mentioned, burning and redness happen.The stick is a convenient delivery system. The oil felt soothing until it didn’t. I will carefully continue to use on neck and chest and hope it continues to feel safe and without pain in those areas. I have used other products in this line & they are all chemical sunscreens but have not noticed the same reaction, but going forward I will not use any of the Supergoop products on my face.
