it's good but. Night owls should just skip Fitbit products.

I bought a special edition because I have a phone without NFC and I decided "what the heck". So on to the review, pros and cons etc. It looks pretty good and isn't as thick as the Ionic, the GPS over the phone works well when it works, overall it's not a bad product. I will list the cons before the pros as I believe they are more important when choosing a product. CONS: 1) Fitbit hasn't yet found it necessary to provide relief for night shift workers or night owls. Your day starts at 00:00 and ends at 23:59; no ifs and or buts. This means turn-by-turn reminders cannot be set for a range of hours past the midnight mark. I used to be a computer programmer until family health issues forced me to become a full-time healthcare worker. It is not difficult to change the time tracking code or else the whole clock and accounting app will mess you up. There's absolutely no reason for Fitbit not to fix this. 2) My sleep tracking, with original watch face, different watch face, reboot, etc. reliably loses 2 hours at the end of my sleep cycle. If you get up and then go back to bed, you are SOL. I bought it mainly for sleep tracking and step counting. 3) Heart rate tracker. I have a smartwatch 39.99 from China that can be worn on the wrist and measures the heart rate. This Fitbit has issues with tattoos. Even when it's not working, it loses tracking from time to time, and that could be part of the sleep tracking issue. 4) The pedometer works well when it works. When I first got it I put it on snugly but not too tight. I took 100 steps, counted 7. Relaxed, tried again, 102. Not bad, better than my Chinese watch. Then I wore it all day, worked on the car and have to wonder if my impact wrench gave me about 3000 extra steps that day. 5)Bluetooth. Doubtful at best. Every app, watch face, etc. I download throws errors. I have to turn it off, turn it on, and then manually sync it to get it to boot. Wifi is great, if he actually used it for something other than music or firmware it would probably solve this problem as normal bluetooth sync would automatically try again. Dials etc not very good PROS: 1) Fits well and is unobtrusive. Now I only remove it for loading or when working in an environment that might damage it. 2) The app actually isn't that bad, except for the lack of night owl/night shift options. 3) The open SDK is great, I've played around with it a bit and apart from the lack of manuals on the Fitbit website it's a decent attempt at opening up my development hardware. 4) The design has been improved. It doesn't look like it was just thrown together. With some refinement, they'll likely be able to retain all of the features and be the same thickness as a regular watch. For the price paid that would be nice. 5) I forgot I was wearing it. There's a lot to be said for a watch that feels good all day long. I have a lot of clocks and yes, I count the hours backwards. Until some problems are solved. Yes, it's a watch with decent specs, but that's about it for now. In conclusion, I really wanted to give them 5 stars. Especially at a price of over 200€. But I don't feel like I got what I paid for. After all, it's a very good watch with a halfway decent app, and I don't think much about how it downloads apps. These days, ignoring people with irregular schedules is unforgivable. An app that offers new features like "sleep analysis" is fine as long as the real hardware is properly tracking and syncing. application compatibility and the like. And just in case someone suggests changing the time zone so I can get reminders of my activities and steps on the night shift or log my sleep manually. No, just no. I haven't paid 200+ for a tracker that has half the @ssed software not working properly.
