Purchased these as a cheap hiking shoe, not expecting too much given the price. Here are the positives and negatives:Pros:1. Nice looking2. Quality material and workmanship on outside of shoe3. Waterproof4. Excellent tread on bottom, holds well on small rock downhill trots5. Little arch support which is a positive for me since I get blisters when arch is high. Wide fit.Cons:1. Absolutely no padding/cushion on ball of foot. After wearing these a second time to hike, I could actually feel the tread on the bottom of the shoe through the ball of my foot on a flat surface. Ouch!2. Shoe size runs big. I would say what I received is at most one size larger than normal. At a minimum, a 1/2 size bigger than a normal size.3. Heel slides a bit given how big the shoe is. If I ordered a size smaller, I'm sure the heel issue would go away.4. Will require a thick pair of hiking socks and an additional insole in order to provide enough padding and support.
