Review on PORTER-CABLE Hook And Loop Pad for Model 333 Sander, 5-Inch (13904) - Buy 1 Pack (Packaging Varies) by Ken Coste

Great part for repairing/restoring a fine grinder, but pay attention to the COMMENTS and WARNINGS posted by me and others.

An ideal replacement part IF the buyer needs to read other customer reviews and heed the caveat that in some cases the original screws may be slightly longer for a new pad. There are several possible solutions, but you must choose one of them. Otherwise, the screw may "go down" before fully tightening the gasket. Pretty hard to spot, but a pad that isn't fully secured can cause serious vibration, and you really don't need significant vibration on something that's idling at 12,000 rpm. I recommend starting and stopping the machine when the sandpaper touches the surface of the workpiece. My original pad lasted quite a long time - years of limited use. However, when he finally "got up" (as we say in Maryland), he did it in a hurry. Pieces of the rubber seal began to fly away at high speed, and when they hit the body, the fragments really hurt. For this reason I will NEVER use this tool without a HIGH QUALITY full face mask. Note that other than the first part that comes loose, you will get no warning that the pad will fall apart and if this happens, immediately turn off the power and set the tool aside until it can be repaired. Keeping it operating in this state would be like firing rubber bullets from a machine gun in a tiled bathroom. Once it starts to break down, it will continue to do so. At least that was my experience. Once it's repaired and virtually vibration-free, run the machine, choosing the right grit sandpaper discs, and let the tool do its job. All of this says that I love this grinder.
