The moment the key fob cover comes out of the box, it still smells awful. It's very chemical and doesn't look like leather at all (but it is leather I see). In theory, inserting the key is easy, but it was a bit annoying, but after a bit of perseverance, it worked. I'm not sure how well this item will wear, but for now it does the job. I'd like one that's handmade in the US, but until I find one, that'll do. I would recommend treating it with some sort of leather conditioner before inserting the key, but inserting the key fairly quickly to allow the conditioner to shape the key and maybe fit it better and kickstart the development of wear and patina.
