***UPDATE*** I found my surface porous and modified it (lesson learned, USE A PRIMER) and they work really great. They are very easy to remove from the surface required for use and leave no traces or "ghost" inscriptions. This is a really great product, but you MUST have a non-porous surface. This is my first homemade board and I didn't know or understand some of these things. I canceled my return, these markers will definitely meet my needs! The colors are amazing. Great option as I don't like neon colors. I am changing my rating to 5 stars! The colors are beautiful and vibrant, but they don't wash off at all. I painted an area with chalkboard paint. I've used a damp paper towel, vinegar and water, straight vinegar, and tried spraying vinegar on the surface and they still get smudged on my board. Now I have to repaint the area where I used them, which is completely ridiculous. Bistro brand chalk markers wipe off well with a damp cloth, but I can't find them in pastels. These markers were great if you want permanent printing, but I left them on the board for less than 10 minutes and they got dirty. Before you buy, find out how you plan to use them.
