Does almost what I wanted

What I really wanted was something that would turn the light on when the pantry door opens and turn off when it closes. The motion sensor is more like a photocell than a motion sensor. When something is within 2 inches of the sensor, the light will toggle (off->on or on->off). When something goes, the light doesn't change. When something returns within that 2 inch range, it toggles. . If something is removed, the light does not change. It would be possible to build something that has a hole and that would definitely work, except the sensor is relatively slow so the door would have to be opened. and closed very slowly to make sure it works. Or something could be really big, which probably defeats the whole point of the exercise! i can play with it Loved the double sided tape on everything. I just stuck things where they needed to be and screwed in a screw to give them a permanent home. Yes, ideally you will need a small magnetic-tipped screwdriver. Keep in mind that one of the light strips will have a push button switch that you'll want to install in a convenient location. I forgot and had to take one off and move it. Not a big deal, but it's easier to do it the first time (not that I've ever done it, of course). There's a 3 hour timer which might be more useful than I thought as we'll probably end up using it to turn it on and have it turn off automatically.
