Review on Gaming Keyboard Logitech G G512 Carbon Tactile Romer-G RGB Black USB Romer-G by Jnis vele ᠌

No complaints, I recommend the product for purchase.

Initially I bought it for work, so I wanted a strict design, with a minimum of whistle-blowing. I trust Logitech for a long time, I decided to start with them. Alas, the design still did not work out very well. Bought the RomerG Tactile version. At first, I did not experience delight, I even decided that the mechanics were not worth it. However, after sitting for 2 working days at this keyboard, I returned to the office membrane, after which the difference became obvious. Definitely, there is no way back, only mechanics. The pressures are soft, the response is gentle, the sounds from the actual switches are almost inaudible. The sound of the keys when pressed to the end is not loud, it definitely does not interfere in an office environment, colleagues knock even louder. At home in silence, the knock is more noticeable, but also quite quiet. There is a slight ringing of the entire body during active printing, it is heard only in complete silence. The lighting is disappointing. Firstly, the keys are illuminated unevenly, 2022 is better than English, symbols on numbers are generally half visible. Secondly, a VERY strong bias towards blue. When setting the color to 255 255 255 (white), we get bright blue. It is possible to achieve something similar to white, but at the cost of brightness. The backlight looks good in twilight or darkness, it is not suitable for office lighting at all. In the photographs, the color of the letter keys is set to 255 190 160. As a result, I took this keyboard home, ordered a mechanic to the office on MX Brown switches from another manufacturer, without backlights and other whistles. Compared to these switches, the Logitech ones are softer and quieter, but less pleasant to type on. For games, RomerG Tactile (as here) is more suitable, for work - Cherry MX (although there are many different ones, there are probably "gaming" ones as well). Bought for 7990. The cheapest Chinese mechanics on Cherry MX costs about 5500 on Ali. Any branded non-game from 10k. If RomerG switches are as durable as Cherry, this keyboard is worth the price. But it takes 5 years to check this.

Pros
  • - High-quality assembly, the feeling of an expensive, premium thing. - Normal design, without "gaming" bells and whistles. If not for the backlight, it would be a good choice as a working keyboard. - Nice switches (more about this in the comments). - Quiet, even quieter than standard office furniture colleagues. - Heavy, does not crawl away or bounce when typing is active. - A bunch of macro settings and lighting, for those who need it.
Cons
  • ate after ~1.5 years. The backlight of the W key has broken, one of the LEDs has burned out, now its color does not match the rest of the keys. Conclusions - the mechanism is most likely eternal, but the backlight will die sooner or later. - The backlight is very uneven and with jambs of color. About this, too, in the comments. - Incredibly thick cord that can fit Cat6 Ethernet, or even more than one. At the same time, it is non-detachable. The two USB inputs seem redundant.
