I'm used to working with a precision cross vise. I needed one for home use and settled on the one that looked the best at the best price. When unpacked the unit was loose, but a few turns or screws tightened it up. You have to tighten to a point that is difficult to adjust to completely eliminate any slack. A little light oil on the sliding surface helps. For small hobbies, the vise is accurate and repeatable. Does not match +-0.001 but +-0.005.
