YES it will fit the Kobalt KT1015 portable jig saw and YES this table will fit the standard 8 inch pad set. The user manual even states that the Dado setup is compatible with this table. This insert is the same strength as the original that comes with the table. It has height adjustment holes just like the original. Doesn't stick and fits perfectly. It has the same clamps as the original. If you're looking for an insert that fits your Kobalt 1015 desk and is $25 less than the Lowe, this is it. It's the exact same insert. In case you're wondering, I bought a Dado Diablo 8" set for my desk at Home Depot.
