I originally bought a pair for a month-long trip abroad to protect us from the mattress we had to sleep on and ended up using mine own home. I bought a queen size for my mattress and box spring. I had no bug issues to report. I have a pet and once he threw up on my mattress and wouldn't get in. I didn't have any noticeable gaps in the seams as some people have mentioned. I bought one for my box spring for my wooden frame bed and it was quite loose so there is some wear and tear where the box spring is rubbing against the wooden beams and so this needs to be addressed and replaced. I bought one for a family member and he can confirm that bed bugs cannot get through the protector.
