Easy installation and clear instructions. I have used this relay and a 120-24v transformer to power 24v strobe lights and horn/siren units throughout my house. When the relay is activated it supplies 120v to my transformer which supplies the necessary 24v to turn on the strobes and siren. Was it necessary in my house? no But this is a unique installation, and now you can't confuse it with smoke in my house! This would be very helpful for people with hearing/visual impairments. I also like that I can use the 9 volts coming out of the relay to plug in a simple test button that puts 9 volts on the interconnect wire. If I wanted to be a real fan, I could use that to connect to an extraction station. Anyway, I can now activate this test switch to activate the entire system while the switch is activated. This allows my family to do accurate fire drills, prevents me from hitting test buttons on the ceiling, and also allows for testing of home automation triggers (phone calls, text messages, turning on lights, etc.). I have a Zwave sensor connected to a normally closed contact to trigger automation events and a Halo+ smoke alarm. I hid the relay, transformer and all wire nut connections in a junction box that I installed in the laundry chute.
