Review on πŸ”‹ Power Up Your Devices with Antigravity Batteries AG-BTR-2: Batteries & Accessories! by Tommy Penn

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Useful for monitoring the last battery voltage. Can be greatly improved.

While a fancy shunt that also measures current would be more useful for diagnosing battery life, it is inexpensive and mounts directly to the car battery, potentially without breaking the circuit if just the screws be loosened slightly. The device's Bluetooth froze once and wiping it was the only way to reset it, but generally it's been working reliably for a few weeks. The cables are barely long enough to run from a typical car battery and I can't even fit them into my BMW M Roadster and close the battery door; Most cars have an open top of the battery, so you'll be fine. With foot-long cables I could mount it on the battery end or on a remote mount, so minus the star for the length of the cable: coiling up some extra cable would certainly be more useful than soldering on extensions for a more permanent install, so I will remove the device and use it only for troubleshooting. Looking at historical battery voltage from day to day is uncomfortable. It would be better if it could use, for example, a pinch motion to expand or shrink the chart and scroll the entire history from left to right while you swipe the chart, but it works. Knowing the voltage when you start your car is very helpful in determining the condition of your battery and is much more convenient than trying to use a universal voltmeter. Suggestions for improving the product: Comply with the minimum amount of data, e.g. B. the minimum starting voltage. over the life of the battery (years) and allow for temperature compensation (the voltage of a lead-acid battery is strongly dependent on temperature), so you can give an accurate trend line for the relative battery capacity, starting ability and an estimate of the remaining battery life. Let's face it, the whole point of a product is to know when to replace the battery or look for fake pranks, so we need information on long-term trends. I'm a software developer. It's not that difficult, and the extra data really lets the product shine without drastically increasing the cost of the parts. Still, it's better than none, especially for cars that have been idling for long periods without a battery or when a dead battery is leaving you stranded.
