Great keyboard for the price with a few flaws

Overall I'm very happy with this keyboard. It looks good, takes up little desktop space, Bluetooth works very well and is easy to use, and the lack of software is both a plus and a minus as it streamlines settings and reduces memory usage on my laptop. . I switched to the K8 from a Razer BlackWidow TKL lighting control software and it was a noticeable performance hit at times (and sometimes required a connection reset to use my custom chroma). Pros: The Bluetooth connection is really good, basic. set up and easily switch between three devices. I also like that there is a hard "off" setting. travel and you use a manual switch to control the operating system configuration. The lack of software was a plus for me. Razer software loaded slowly on startup; the keyboard did not always work until the software loaded; and sometimes it seemed like my settings were completely forgotten or not transferred to the keyboard, so the keyboard randomly reverted to the default color. The K8 doesn't have any software, just preset color schemes so you can't customize them yourself, but you don't get associated errors either. I love the look of the keyboard and the stock keycaps, and it's really cool to include both OS-specific keycaps and a pair of color-coded keycaps as part of the package. I wish Keychron would offer orange versions of all of its buttons because I love the icon and font style, but I would like orange options along with the ESC and light buttons. (See Con for my complaint about the default limits.) - I like the price of this. I just want a wireless good mechanical keyboard for general typing and it was so nice to save $30 because I don't care about fancy RGB or microsecond latencies. Cons: Some keys feel quieter than others, like they're prewired with O-rings. I notice it on the Enter, Shift and Backspace keys. That doesn't really bother me, but it would be nice if all the keys were the same. If you tap on it a little and then take a closer look at the keys, you can see that the bright keys are slightly discolored. oils at the fingertips. I can see a small bezel on the top of the button compared to the untouched side which looks a little lighter. For a keyboard that absolutely requires you to touch the keys with your fingers, this seems like a noticeable disadvantage. Of course you can get new caps and replace them, but that kills the economic factor of this board in my opinion. EDIT: There is actually a shortcut for this (Fn + Light key); it's just not in the manual. ORIGINAL: I wish the lights were off. If you accidentally hit the light button, you'll have to go through everything to get it back to "off" and during the day it's almost impossible to even see the white lights. (I can't speak with RGB lighting.) - This keyboard requires a palm rest. The keyboard is quite large, so I don't think it's optional. It would be nice to at least offer it in a set with wrist protection, otherwise you need it. The buttons aren't recessed into the circuit board at all, which allows for more dirt to collect and require more frequent cleaning. I don't hate his looks, but that's a factor. Don't let the negatives fool you. I'm getting rid of my old Razer and keeping it as a spare. Overall very happy with this keyboard.
