I am very happy with the purchase of my backpack, I mainly use it for kayaking. When packed it's a bit big to fit in the dry box, which is fine because I usually tape it to the lid of my dry box anyway for easy access. I have seating upstairs but this is a great size if you have a white yak and need to keep everything inside. I really like how much it holds, I can pack everything I need for the day and not have to worry about a second bag. I needed a backpack to be hands free when lowering the kayak in the water. Where we like to ride is quite rocky so wheels aren't really an option and we have to carry everything we take which is great we can do it in one ride! I have used it several times as a daypack. times, and it works really well as an all-rounder. It's very comfortable and the mesh pads prevent it from just lying on your back, allowing for good airflow. It's surprisingly light considering how solidly it's built. The fabric is very thick but not heavy. All buckles and straps are well made and seem to hold up over time. I really like how it's regulated. I'm quite tall and this works great for me but my wife loves it too and with a little tug on the straps she's ready to go. I highly recommend the saltie pack for both men and women. It also has a very sporty look, so it cuts a fine figure when you carry it around town. Many dry bags look like a plastic bag you sling over your shoulder, but this is a real, well-designed backpack. Since it is a stuff sack, it is absolutely waterproof. I tested it before using it in the pool and it works great. As with any dry bag, simply fold the top over a couple of times and secure using the straps on the sides. You can then adjust the straps to suit your wearing time. I like it when I don't have too many things with me I can just push it a little harder and it feels very safe. The zippered front pocket is very splash-proof, but not waterproof. It can endure a lot of splashing water, but when it is immersed in water, some water seeps into it after a moment. This could be a good upgrade in the future. The bag floats well so diving is unlikely unless something pulls it down, but I'd put your phone in Ziploc just in case. At least that's what I always do. It's a great size, big but not too big. If you're doing anything like a nighttime kayak trip, you can easily bring a sleeping bag and a few change of clothes. It's also a good size for a day hike if you just want to pack warm clothes and a few essentials. Overall, I would highly recommend the Saltie backpack to anyone who needs to carry things they don't want to get wet. It's comfortable enough to use every day for things like biking or camping in places where it might rain. For kayaking it's just amazing. I always have everything I need with me and like to have my hands free. It is well designed and is on par with, if not better than, more expensive bags. I've had it for a few months now and I've used it quite a bit. It still looks great and I think I'll have it for a very long time. Feel free to choose this one if you need a good dry bag backpack.
