I bought this as a last resort to extend the range of my existing WiFi network inexpensively to expand . A room in my house is at the limit of the WiFi range. All I need is a little more range and bandwidth to make this space work. I didn't want to buy a range extender or a new wireless router. I connected this antenna and did not notice any noticeable difference from the standard antenna. Even a slight increase should have been noticeable, since the room in question is covered. But I don't see any difference since I installed this antenna. To prove this I downloaded a WIFI analyzer (inSSIDer 2.0) and I see no difference in RSSI between the OEM and this antenna. So it was a cheap experiment that didn't pay off. My guess is that the quality control isn't the best on these cheap antennas. Based on my experience I would throw this antenna away. Now I'm going to pull the range extender trigger to cover the house. Pros: Easy to install Low cost Cons: Didn't have a positive impact on my network range Big and ugly (note that if your antenna is in a visible location)
