Review on Premium Ergonomic High Back Executive Office Chair: Black LeatherSoft Swivel with Armrests by Flash Furniture by Angela Fields

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Incredibly comfortable and a work of art, but maybe too comfortable.?

My chair looks and feels just as good as the pictures and it really is a dream to sit in. He's got nice lines, marshmallow skin, and I can't stop looking at him. I'm 5ft and the lumbar support is great. My chair reclines and reclines quite a bit and is so relaxing that I fell asleep in it twice on my first day. My head rests well on the rear headrest. This is a great Netflix chair that allows me to sit back and watch PC movies in luxury. I deal with back pain and fibromyalgia and when I sit back and relax it's like an ergonomic back massage. I think it will also be an elegant and comfortable conference chair. However, because this chair isn't as tall as my previous chair, it creates an awkward typing angle at the table I use as my desk. This resulted in increased persistent pain in the nerves of both hands, as well as decreased typing speed and game flexibility when typing on the PC. The reason for this is not only the height of the chair, but also the angle at which the chair seat itself sits. The seat reclines slightly, so even at the maximum height, you're actually sitting a few inches lower than the chair's specs state. The seat cushion doesn't help because it also follows the inclination of the seat. People of average or above average height using a real computer desk with a keyboard stand probably won't have the same problems. But for us little ones and improvisers at the computer desk, it would make sense if this chair were placed a little higher. However, the reason I gave this chair 4 stars instead of 5 is due to some disappointing manufacturing issues. The leather parts of the chair look great, but the nylon base and armrests of mine show numerous permanent fingerprints etched into the metallic black paintwork (maybe around 20) as well as a few dents and scuffs on the armrests and base, affecting his appearance. otherwise great to look at. This is a truly beautifully designed piece of furniture and I feel more attention should have been paid to how well the details were handled during manufacture. If they don't care what the customer sees, I wonder where else they've neglected or cut corners in processing in areas I can't see. I plan on keeping this chair because it's too comfortable to pass up. it looks great, plus I ordered 40% off the regular price during the Revain special. Now that I've actually sat in one of them, I'm hooked and can't say no. A: But I keep another, more practical desk chair on hand to use for more intensive PC use where performance is key. The tilt lock helps a bit, but for me it's pretty comfortable ergonomics that just don't suit my intense PC projects or MMO RPG games. Advice for new customers. The key to successfully assembling an office chair is gradually tightening all the screws in the seat base and then the armrests together. This contributes to a more harmonious construction process and a better end result. Over-tightening each screw before moving on to the next will result in the remaining parts fitting poorly later and unbalancing the design. If the text instructions were accompanied by graphics, the manufacturer could explain, but the images only show how to install the part. This chair is also covered by a 2-year manufacturer's parts warranty, but this information is not included in the printed materials either. So if one of the parts fails, like the pneumatic elevator that a lot of people have trouble with, they will send you a new one. I haven't had this chair in a long time and will be updating this review in a few weeks to let others know if it's still amazing and if any problems develop. Update 11/03/11: There is some truth to the reviews stating that the seat padding flattens out quickly so you will soon feel a streak across the width of the seat under the padding. (roughly where the narrow oval shape is in the center of the seat). This is part of the structural support of the chair and after a week or so mine became really obvious and distracting from work. To eliminate the irritation, I placed a folded microfiber blanket on the seat for extra padding. Sitting on a blanket and reclined fully in a chair makes you less visible. The ceiling spoils the look, but it is functional. It's less noticeable when I'm leaning back in my chair to watch movies, but when I'm sitting up and typing it becomes obvious and annoying. Small people can feel this structural hardware under their feet, and tall people can feel it digging into their buttocks. I guess that's why some of the reviews say "what a hard chair that is" because nothing else has been said about the chair yet. The lumbar support is just amazing. Otherwise, I like this slim, chic upholstered chair very much. But for the money we don't have to rethink the seat upholstery. I'm deducting a star because I had to.
