If you are looking for a weighted blanket with no little pills/beads this is the blanket. I've had this blanket for a few weeks now and I'm getting enough sleep. First the "new" smell. That bothered me after reading the reviews. Yes it smells new but I believe that has to do with the plastic bag it is sealed in. To get rid of it I took it to the laundry and washed it in the washing machine for 5 loads. Then I put it in the dryer in the laundry room. The quilt came out fine (ignore the hand wash label). The smell went away. Although it has holes, the blanket will get hot when used with another blanket. If, like me, you get hot while you sleep, take off the comforter and just use this comforter with the sheets.
