That's a lot of light for $30. LED lights are getting better and better. That's a lot better than many older LED models. A single $30 12-18" rod seems twice as bright as my old 18-24" Aqueon OptiBright+ ($75) although it's not as bright as my old 12- Inch-Amano Aquasky ($200). If you're into high-tech, high-intensity aquascaping I'd recommend stepping up to something like Chihiros/Twinstar ($100+), but for most other uses it's a great light. The RGB settings allow you to fine-tune the Illumination spectrum, not just a rainbow. Different color tones can be set for different times of the day. One controller can be used to control more than one light, or you can close the receiver with your hand and control the lights individually. Receiver mounted 12 inches from light source. These suction cups are great for holding the cables/receivers in place: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B089ZP971L/
