Soft metal of device does not allow high torque on nut! I removed mine very easily, so I removed it, added some 3M double sided tape to the bottom of the camera, then some washers from the side of the nut, then hand tightened it, then carefully turned it a quarter turn with a wrench . This camera could benefit from a mounting wedge or two as it was pointing too far down to be really useful on my car (Mercc SLK 2011). Results may vary depending on camera mounting height. I ended up replacing that camera with one with mounting wedges and some image adjustments.
