Great for the tailgate with a small mod

Good picture and excellent camera quality. For the price, this camera is hard to beat! The only thing that would make this camera better would be if the seller explained the direction/angle of the camera a bit better and the included nut could use an extra lock nut or washer for the back of the camera. If you intend to mount this on the tailgate handle, the picture is upside down. You have to disassemble the lens and rotate it 180 degrees for it to display properly.

Soft metal and image may be too low on some vehicles

Soft metal of device does not allow high torque on nut! I removed mine very easily, so I removed it, added some 3M double sided tape to the bottom of the camera, then some washers from the side of the nut, then hand tightened it, then carefully turned it a quarter turn with a wrench . This camera could benefit from a mounting wedge or two as it was pointing too far down to be really useful on my car (Mercc SLK 2011). Results may vary depending on camera mounting height. I ended up replacing…

For a high position in vehicle security

I am very satisfied with this camera in terms of video quality and performance. However, field of view and viewing angles make it somewhat unsuitable for installation under a trunk lid or bumper. The focal length also gives a false impression of distance (objects appear further away, up to the last second when very close). The lines are also too narrow. I would recommend installing this camera in the rear window of an SUV next to (or possibly in) the third brake light. This would not make FOV…

Read my update below

Camera quality is good. Image quality is ok. It's not very clear or broad. This is not 170 degrees as stated in the description and title. My DVR reads 170 degrees, which this Nouka can't even match. Our other car's stock rear view camera has 3 settings, and one of them is so wide you can almost see the cars you're parked next to. The only thing it has is build quality and brightness at night. It's nice and bright, but I have really bright LED reverse lights. Edit: It's only been running for…

Pros
  • Great for me
Cons
  • Some issues

The camera is quite high quality with metal body. It contains a lot of cables and looks like a factory on my Tahoe where a factory camera would fit. It must be mounted or screwed upside down for the image to align properly. However, I already have distance lines built into my head unit and can see the camera without being backwards, so I wanted to turn it off with the camera so that if I don't reset I can just watch videos without the lines. I cut the white wire as instructed but the line…

The lens is easy to damage, short thin wire.

I bought to replace another exactly the same model that I had for less than 2 years that no longer showed a clear image. The problem is that the lens is made out of cheap plastic so car washing can render the lens so useless. The thin wire you receive is not long enough to operate the tailgate. You will need to purchase an extension cord to help with this. Pros - Good picture when it works (before the lens got damaged) - Cheap - No need for a voltage stabilizer like the other camera I tried…

RCA Cable - Waste

I installed this camera in a 2014 Tahoe. It wasn't easy to stretch the cables where needed, but I managed. After about 20 minutes of normal operation, the picture went black and white. I submitted a report to Revain and they sent me another. I tested the new camera with the old cables and it was still black and white. I checked the old camera with new cables and it was black and white. I then tested the new camera with new cables before fishing out the new wires and the picture was in color and

Basic Things to Know Before Buying

This is not night vision. I'm sure they want you to know that the picture is clear when the brake lights are on, but there's no night vision and no night vision lens to see in the dark. Relay to control the flickering and rotation of the image. Obviously it is not included in the scope of delivery and therefore has an additional cost. This is not mentioned in the instructions. I'm deducting 2 stars because it makes the advert inaccurate and misleading. Good. It shows 170 degrees of the image. I

Low profile camera with very good picture.

I bought this for my Hyundai Santa Fe as it fits perfectly over the license plate in a separate location. I installed a wireless camera in another car and figured it would be a no-brainer. I was a bit concerned that the price would match something cheap from Asia with no helpful instructions, but I took a chance. The camera itself has a metal body that feels solid. Installation was as simple as drilling a hole and running wires to the taillight. This is where it got a bit tricky and confusing…
