I really loved being able to pull my big wavy messy bun through the top of this hat this winter. He also warmed his head. I understand some of the reviewers said the hole is too small to put hair through. I bought one in black and one in brown. You shouldn't have better quality control because the hole on top of the brown is perfect. It's wide enough to go through all your hair. The hole on the black is a bit narrower and I had some issues, but I found that if you just gently stretch the hole without pulling so hard that the elastic breaks, the yarn loosens up a bit. The problem is that the yarn is knitted or wrapped too tightly and not in the elastic. The rubber band has the ability to stretch and get wider. They had just wrapped the yarn so tightly around the elastic. All you have to do is stretch the yarn and you're good to go. Overall I was very happy with this purchase.
