Light weight but quite stiff for an old dog

This product was very easy to put together, no tools required. I just asked my husband to push the last bit, which took some effort until everything snapped securely into place. The product is very light and easy to carry from bedroom to car. It helps our old 11.5 year old dog jump out of bed or the car by taking three steps instead of one big jump but it's still hard for him and pretty cool as you can see from the photos. This is a medium/large dog, 56 pounds. For some reason the steps aren't quite level, they have a slight incline which makes it harder for him to come down. It is also better to make steps with a non-slip surface than with a carpet, which is still a bit slippery. In addition, the product is not heavy, but this reduces stability. I'm afraid if he steps on the edge they might tip over. Once he fell off them - I don't know if he tripped or the steps tipped over. About the car, we have a Chevy Tahoe and these don't reach you, but as a bed, it's like three steps. But for an ordinary car, they would go well, or for a sofa. In general, I use them and they really help, but it's still difficult for him to use them. I am usually there to help him up and down and he mostly does it himself. A big plus is that they are light weight because I use them everywhere as he has needed several visits to the vet lately.

Pros
  • Breed size: small breed, medium breed, large breed
Cons
  • Definitely a bad product
