SeaChem instructions for this product begin with "Remove Protective Film". When the box is opened, the ONLY protective film on the pH sensor is the operating point. Having never purchased this product before, I scrape what I later learn is a working point. Second, I open the ammonia sensor and THEN find out what SeaChem means by "protective film". Without further explanation and trusting SeaChem's lousy instructions, I simply rendered the product useless. It is possible to write persuasive instructions for using the product to help first-time users. I am returning this product for credit and reordering. I have no idea if the product will end up working as I couldn't guess what kind of "protective film" SeaChem was trying to scrape me off. However, SeaChem CAN rewrite its instructions so users understand what they should do when using this product for the first time.
