Not even close to the advertised speeds. Not to mention sustained read/writes, but peak numbers for data under 10GB (fairly common). I have an "SSD only" rig so I can say that others are much closer to what the manufacturer claims and most of them actually exist. Write speed is around 350MB/s for the first 5-10GB (connected to an Intel controller (compared to AsMedia etc)), after that it drops to around 180 and for the next 10GB the speed keeps falling around 100-120 MB/s It basically slows down the more you write to it (continuously) and takes a little time to recover to full speed (e.g. SLC cache needs to be written to nand)im SLC cache and based on the latest (3D) Nand it's quite slow.My 5+ year old OCZ Vector is doing 400MB/s reading and 350MB/s simple writing. Not that you pass data around like this on a regular basis would have seen /user base, but performance is still close to expectations, especially as the review on guru3d looked pretty good (read, no write) and couldn't find OCZ vector /vector 180 cheaper.I only have one SSD (a couple critical SSDs), so I don't want one risking catastrophic failure with just one make/model. If you need something with better performance (especially if it's the only drive or a drive for the OS) look for the Samsung evo 860 to 960, the critical MX300 (with built-in backup power), the critical MX500 (newer and no backup -supply in the form of capacitors, like 300, but the reviewer says it's no longer needed) or if it's a good price: OCZ Vector 180 (built-in redundant power supply) or one of the newer Toshiba drives (see reviews on guru3d there I'm not up to date) as they offer an advanced replacement if the drive fails/fails. Another thing I don't like is that SMART data/sensor information is about 30-50% of other bras. nds, so it's harder to spot potential problems. I mean my smallest and cheapest drive is the 60GB SP and even that shows twice as much information. The test was carried out with the AS SSD test on a freshly formatted drive, the test file is 1 GB in size, as in the default setting. The first pic is an SP A55 (256GB), the second is my 5 year old Vector with about 30TB of nand writes for comparison (and its 128GB which is typically slower than the same 250GB model).
