I have never owned a silicone brush and am amazed at how well it works. I wish I had bought this many years ago. I used it before vacuuming the carpet and with everything I've swept I understand it will really save me going through so many of those Hepa vacuum bags as I won't be filling them up anytime soon I use this broom first. As a child, my mother always let me vacuum first and then rake the carpet. When I use this silicone brush before vacuuming, it not only sweeps whatever is on the fibers but also fluffs up the carpet like a carpet rake, which allows the vacuum to pull more dirt out of the carpet than it normally would because the fibers are more vertical.
