Review on Olympus Digital Dm 720 Voice Recorder by James Richardson

Olympus makes many recorders with a USB port for transcription. Using one of the Dragon apps (depending on whether you have a Mac or a PC) you can drag and drop the file into the window where it will be decrypted, albeit with major typos. Punctuation marks should also be dictated. This particular model has 3 mic heads instead of just one, which should improve performance in group settings. For simple dictation, I found the results nearly identical to a previous Olympus model that cost about $20 less. (I used both voice recorders and recorded both. Each had the same misspellings in some words and the correct spelling in others.) I really wish Olympus would publish a chart showing when each model will be released, how long it will be serviced and in what term. In a moment it will be stopped. It's unnecessarily difficult for potential buyers to weigh the pros and cons when no one knows how long it can be repaired. For this reason, and also because of the constant difficulty in getting all the words right the first time, I give this book 4 stars instead of 5.
