The ONLY REASON I bought this was because regular mice all come in mostly small sizes now and it was causing my hand and wrist a lot of discomfort holding on to those uncomfortably for many hours as I am an IT worker. This one allows a LOT OF COMFORT and awesome amount of area for the palm of your hand to rest comfortably on the back of the mouse and significantly reduced my pain and discomfort.The trackball against your thumb will need getting used to esp. for 1st time users. Th biggest change you have to get used to is to rotate the trackball and keep the mouse fixed which is what ultimately makes this comfortable.But I guarantee you - once you get familiar and develop muscle memory you will HATE a regular mouse and never go back again !SO from an ergonomic and long-term use point of view this is awesome!And of course no batteries needed so thats great too - just plug & play. Just works like a regular mouse with MUCH GREATER surface area to hold onto, less pain and WAY BETTER ergonomics.Two Thumbs UP! (pun fully intended .:-).!)
