I purchased these spikes to replace some of the broken ones on my vinyl shutters and I am very pleased with the quality of these spikes. They are very durable and hold up well. One of the most important tips when installing new studs is to make sure you drill the original mounting holes with a standard 1/4-inch drill bit to clear the way for the new stud. If your original spikes broke in your house's mounting holes like mine did, you may have trouble pulling the old spikes out.
