Before I bought it, I had a Panasonic 45-200. This lens wasn't very sharp, autofocus was slow, and it was a little big and bulky. This lens doesn't zoom as much, only up to 150. However, it's much smaller and lighter. The picture quality has improved a lot and the autofocus is very fast and quiet. If you really need extra coverage, other lenses are available. If you can afford a 35-100 2.8, you should probably buy it. But if you shoot Micro 4/3 and aren't rich, you can combine it with 14-42 f3.5-5.6 and get an incredible zoom range with a quality that far exceeds the price you pay.
