I bought this to secure my OnePlus 3t phone with USB-C 2.0 port. When writing to the memory card, the process would hang several times, eventually ending with either an I/O error or taking so long that the phone's battery died. I tried a direct copy of the file with the same setup and encountered the same problem. I was able to backup with no problems using the same memory stick connected to an OTG cable and a USB-A multi-card adapter, which also happened to be made by SmartQ, so that adapter was clearly the problem. I ordered a replacement and tried again - I really like the design - and it didn't work either, with the same phone and memory card. I was hoping the issue was a faulty device, but it turned out to be poor design preventing the USB-C side from working, at least in my app. I've been able to successfully back up and copy files to an old Micro USB phone and also copy the data to my computer via the USB-A port, so the issue seems to be limited to the USB-C interface. Update 12/25/2020: I have exchanged my SmartQ device. with the Vanja reader also from Revain. I've used it multiple times to back up the same phone to the same memory card, which always failed with SmartQ. I haven't had any issues with it at all, so I'm pretty sure the SmartQ has a design flaw. Unless you plan on never using this USB-C device, look elsewhere.
