Imagine if it rained A LOT in Phoenix! It's hard to believe, isn't it? The wipers on my new (to me) 2014 Prius didn't work. They were factory made and fell apart. You just smeared water on the windshield and most of the water jumped over the blade, flowed through the open cocking arms and landed right where it was. Also, previous owners, or a mechanic who didn't know what they were doing, had wipers so far below the glass that they hit the hood when trying to lift them. That meant there was a three-inch gap in front of the driver between the edge of the glass and where the wipers stopped. Not to mention high-speed chatter. The wind blows OEM builds everywhere. Absolutely unsafe to drive. The Bosch Icon seems to be the top rated replacement, and for $40 a pair it should be! They're less than $20 a pair, half the price, and look the same. The strong "beam" design means water cannot jump over the blade. The aerodynamic shape deflects the wind and keeps the blade securely on the glass. And what a great blade. Each pass removes water completely with no squeaks, streaks, or cracks. I was able to adjust the position of the wiper arms so that the blades rest against the bottom of the glass and open toward the edge of the glass. Eliminate the three inch blind spot in front of the driver. Even when the windshield wipers are off, the wind sweeps across them as if they were invisible. The OEM blade assembly was actually a little more difficult to remove than to snap into place. Only the question of durability remains. They appear to be well made with quality materials and I love the bar design. They even look better than OEM. If anything changes I will update this review. At the moment they are all five stars!
