Review on πŸ”§ K&N Engine Air Filter: Premium, High Performance, Washable Replacement Filter for 2015-2019 Ford Mustang L4/V6/V8, 33-5029 by Maxwell Thomas

Revainrating 5 out of 5

A K&N drip filter is always a good investment.

The years have always gone back to the K&N plug-in filter. Like other CAI brands and the results are always the same, CAI or FIPK will suck in hot air when driving in traffic. The factory air intakes are designed for every need, and the only thing the car needs is a better-than-paper filter, and the K&N filter does a damn good job. My 2017 Mustang GT gets 17mpg on 50/50 city/highway. Driving with Ford paper filters and aftermarket paper filters. And as usual, K&N gives me 19mpg and it's still close to 20mpg. Cars don't need aftermarket CAIs. If you're looking for better throttle response and quicker timing, CAI offers you these improvements only when the engine is cold. Once the engine is warm, all your expectations are gone. The K&N insert and melody are in the same park as the CAI and melody, and compared to some CAIs, the insert and melody work better. If you don't hear the tune, the input is the same if not better than CAI without the tune. Just keep a paper filter in the trunk in case you need to wash your K&N. The K&N should dry on its own without the use of a hair dryer or heat gun, any forced air or heat will destroy the K&N.

Pros
  • Ideal for outdoor activities
Cons
  • I don't like it that much, it's ok
