***Edit**** After writing this review I went back and re-read several other reviews. I even watched a 2 minute YouTube video on how to install it. I got angry again. I went back and tried to install again but to no avail. Then I pulled the sticks out to their full length and put the small one in the big one. The end cap detached (actually detached) exposing the inner spring and plastic housing. I squeezed the body. I twisted the bar once or twice. Pulled the little one back and put the cap back on. Tried to install again. It worked this time. I am not changing my rating to one star. This is a terribly disappointing, flawed, annoying product. Without a doubt, this is the most disappointing experience I have ever had with an Amazon product. The stem itself appears strong and is a very pleasing color. Like other reviewers, I tried installing the pole the "easy" way first. After a few minutes of disappointment, I read the instructions. I tried again. I increased its length plus an inch. Turned around and nothing happened. The rod simply twists and turns. It never locks. Terrible design. I have read the instructions several times. I've tried installing multiple times. I read the reviews and I don't understand how anyone likes it. Tomorrow I'll throw it in the trash where it belongs and in the evening I'll order another one.
