We love to shake up a cocktail at the end of a long day, we've tried almost every type and this is by far the best cocktail we've ever had. All metal shakers are durable, but they always seem to stick together when you use them, and you end up banging them on the counter like a hungry chimpanzee with a locked suitcase full of bananas, only to disassemble it. Most nice glass shakers have a rubber gasket around the top that fails, or a metal gasket that either leaks or falls apart, especially if you try to run it in the dishwasher. a rubber gasket that's easy to apply, seals completely, and easy to remove for rinsing and reusing when you want to make another batch right away. The glass container is heavy, feels good in the hand, pours gently through the sieve. Repeated rinse cycles in the dishwasher have not led to any negative results. Keep the pretty ones at the bar but make this workhorse for every day/party.
