Review on πŸ”ͺ Precision Cutting with Amana Tool RC 1148 Insert V Groove by Jonathan Fernandez

Revainrating 5 out of 5

This is the best you can buy for CNC signage making.

This is the best nozzle you can buy for making CNC signage. I started with inexpensive bits and tried a lot of them. I thought I was saving money but I actually spent a lot more than I thought I would. I finally found an Amana tool and decided to try the carbide V-groove bit. They were way better than the cheap stuff I started with, but wore out quickly (for me since I like wooden signs). Not only does this now give me a sharper, cleaner cut, it lasts much longer and I can replace the carbide inserts for a third of the price of one of the other bits. The insert knives are made of solid carbide and are much harder because they are not brazed bits. If I could take off 1/2 a star I would say no just because the insert change is not explained anywhere on the box or on the Amana Tool website. I had to email and call and got several mixed responses before I got the information I needed from Frank. The trick is to screw in the screw, slide the blade toward the tool and up away from the tool until it stops, then tighten the screw. This has given me great results. The problem with the misunderstanding was that he destroyed the tactical knife by breaking the tip when testing in the wrong place. You've got to get it right if you want it to cut the way it does straight from the factory. Last tip for you. When purchasing replacement knives. rather spend a little more and buy the ones designed for MDF. I spoke to an Amana technician and he explained that the carbide is higher quality and lasts longer. Of course, you might not need anything other than general purpose (that comes to mind), but it's nice to be able and have something better.
