I am amazed! It was definitely worth the money!
The margin of aperture and sharpness is large, you can easily use a teleconverter (I use pentax 1.7x). Aperture and sharpness of course falls, but the output image remains at least significantly above average. because used to taking pictures with single frames in a row, instead of burst shooting - a strange situation periodically comes across: when autofocus in such a series jumps spontaneously - suppose 10 single frames were taken in 5-8 seconds, the first 4 focus as it should be, then the focus frame jumped, then 5 frames the focus is the same as the first 4. I did not buy in 2022, I ordered from Japan (new). The price bites, but the lens is definitely worth the money. And in the 300mm f/4 segment, this price is one of the lowest.
- Very good sharpness. At f / 5 such that you will not increase further. Maximum f / 5.6, and even then the photos are too sharp in my opinion then. On a very cloudy day in the shade of trees, I calmly use both 4.5 and 4.0, I am more than satisfied with the results. Very good color reproduction. The pictures are juicy and natural, you don’t have to use color correction. Excellent contrast reproduction. Excellent soft background blur.
- Autofocus. I often take pictures from manual focus or with a bolted autofocus teleconverter (and there focusing is due to the teleconverter itself), so I have no complaints about autofocus, but I know that it loses insignificantly in speed compared to competitors
