I used to have several of these little pH meters. While they're certainly not as accurate as more expensive commercial pH meters like the blue lab units that cost a few hundred, these smaller ones are more convenient and much less expensive. For example, a 0.01 change in a hydroponic grow tank will not make much of a difference. They are more accurate than what is needed for hydroponics, which is what I use them for. This one is no different compared to others I've bought in the past, except that it comes in a nice plastic holder - something that is lacking in other similar pH meters I've bought in the past. Also included are instructions and three small sachets needed to calibrate the device. What about the calibration? All pH meters need to be calibrated after prolonged use. Even so, a small difference in pH usually doesn't make a huge difference in hydroponics. An easy way to keep track is to measure your tap water at home and remember the pH level. Whenever you measure the water in your home plumbing changing significantly, it's probably time to recalibrate it. This unit is easy to use and I would recommend it for hydroponics.
