Review on πŸ”§ Premium 1" American Granby Brass Check Valve for Water Well Pump & Pressure Tank Installation (No Lead, CVNL100BS) by Andrew Holman

Revainrating 1 out of 5

This part does not seal well. I do not recommend this.

Update: I can't return it but the part is unusable and had to be replaced. It seals metal to metal. After a month of use, it got to the point where it held the pressure long enough not to water hammer between 20-minute intervals. After that, it flows back so far that a strong water hammer occurs. Also, its hole is so small in diameter that it restricts water flow compared to my spare. In my opinion, you should avoid this purchase. Get one with a non-metallic seal that can also hold gas, not just water. I used it to insulate a submersible well pump. My old check valve died after 25 years. It had been struggling since installation and gradually got worse until it broke after just a month. ______________ Up to a month: The item meets my expectations. The "light weight" mark put me off at first, but apparently that's what happens when someone says "lead-free." After installation I had a little reflux. I don't know if it was this part or the check valve in my well. I increased the pressure a bit and the valve tightened. Now there is no problem. This piece is from Taiwan. I had hoped for the USA. However, it works fine.

Pros
  • Great design
Cons
  • Crumpled packaging
