Review on Reliable Storage Solution: Western Digital WD Green WD30EZRS 3 TB 3.5" Internal Hard Drive by Adam Dziarnowski ᠌

I bought this disk for the first time (I used only 2TB before). Attracted the size of 3TB and the price. I really respect the products of this manufacturer (Western Digital) and this series (Green). I have not broken a single 2TB disk and they work very well - I am 100% satisfied. But with 3TB there was a hitch: the sellers did not warn about problems with it. As a result, I pretty much suffered with him and got nervous! The problem is known and well described on this forum (I should have looked here before buying this disc!?): 1) if initialized in MBR, then no OS (XP, Vista, 7) can work with the entire disk space (one partition = 2048 GB, the second partition of 756 GB cannot be formatted absolutely!) 2) if you initialize in GPT, then XP cannot work with it (when connected to XP, the disk may even be covered !) Conclusion for those who do not want hassle, but want to buy a device, set it up and use it for health: if the disk needs to be used in an external box with different operating systems (XP, Vista, 7, etc.), then it is better to REFUSE TO PURCHASE IT ! I exchanged it with a surcharge for two 2TB disks and now I'm happy as a boa constrictor from a pack of naphthalene - NO PROBLEMS ! Everything works like clockwork, is defined, formatted!
