As a staffer on the D90, I was able to purchase it. Since I will not be using it personally, all I can do is express my initial reactions to it. Very sharp at 2.8, which is to my satisfaction. Naturally, a stabilizer is not really required at such a focal length; but, the price of a lens that has a 14200 stub is now perfectly justified, and this is the amount that I paid for it. They note further on that the price was 22022, which is, of course, a significant sum. Take a tamron 17-50 2.8 if you have the option between one of these three lenses: sigma, tokina, or tamron, but do it with extreme caution.
